Chevon Tang

The BLACK SURGEONFISH, also known as the Chevron Tang (primarily as a juvenile), is a greenish black fish with closely set lines as an adult, and is orange with blue chevron markings as a juvenile.  They’re typically found in 60-100’ of water around large pieces of coral, and are seen in pairs or small groups.  They’re uncommon around most Hawaiian Islands, except the Big Island, but they’ve been spotted in the waters off of Honolulu.
